Join Tom Arndt, noted Minnesota photographer,
for this home
grown photographic and cultural adventure as he covers Parade/Days. Tom
has photographed Parade/Days for
many years. Some of Tom’s images are included in his
2009 MIA exhibit and book “Tom Arndt’s Minnesota”.
Students will meet at the Mpls Photo Center for
two hours
prior to the event for a better understanding of how to cover such
an event as a parade or other large gatherings of people. You will
learn about environmental portraits and elements of the event, and
leave with a better understanding of place, regardless of when, where
and what you photograph. The
next week you will meet at the Photo Center, having edited
your work to 20 images. Tome will then work with students
to edit their work down to 10 great images that tell the story
and can be part of building a professional portfolio.
We encourage you to attend more then one workshop with the
goal of building a larger body of work.
Workshop Requirements:
Digital or film camera, memory cards and film. You
will be shooting for four to six hours, during the day and
into the evening. So those bringing film cameras should
have both film rated between 100-125ASA for daylight and 400-800ASA
for the early evening light
